This is actually not bad if I assume Hancock is a deck that focus on bouncing your own cards to hand. You could bounce Salome to hand, use the on play effect again, and for 2 DONs, Hancock Leader would get 4k power in one turn. Plus she also a Kuja Pirate which means we can search her out with our searcher. Although if there are better cards coming out for Kuja Pirates/Amazon Lily, I would use Salome in a Budget deck instead, assuming we are getting more Super Rares for the deck.

More Fishmen/Merfolks support for Arlong. I actually don't mind Aladdin. Aladdin can focus on our low drop Characters whilst Arlong will play our Trigger Characters for free. A win win situation for that deck. Although he does cost 5 to play, and for Arlong, you need at least 3 DONs I think to use his effect. 1 for the Leader, then you pay 2 DONs to play a Trigger Character. I might be remembering his effect wrong, it could be 2 DONs for the cost. So if you want to play Aladdin early stage, you will need to sacrifice Arlong's effect for a turn. Overall I'm looking forward in updating Arlong as I've already got the build ready for OP06 set.

OP05 Purple (Magellan) Deck Profile

I am reviving the old Magellan build. To be honest I could wait until EB01, but it is still 2 sets away for us English format players, so there will be time to update this deck. The idea I've got for this deck is making this build an aggressive build, swarming your field with Characters ready to attack next turn. This is only possible because purple got a lot of great cards we can use for this deck.

There's 2 Lucy in Dressrosa arc, and the one they chosen is Sabo (Spoiler for people who haven't got to that part). He works with Kyrios build in EB01, but he could be handy in Belo Betty build because of resting 4 cost or less. Personally, Blockers are the only thing in the way for Belo Betty to swing in one swoop. However, he does cost 6 to play, but Belo Betty doesn't really care about DONs. But it will be interesting to see this in Belo Betty build. I already know Kyrios will benefit this effect more, but doesn't hurt to see how well it goes into the old builds.

Budget Deck Profile - Blue/Yellow (Queen) OP04 + OP05

The style for this Queen build is very different to the main build which can be found by clicking (here). That build is more defensive control, but it does have quite a few expensive cards, whilst this build is more of a normal control deck rather than going defensive. It is a budget deck which is why the build is just a normal control deck. OP04 and OP05 sets made it easy for me to build a Queen budget build because everything you need will be in those 2 sets.

Just a ramp card that works similar to both Galley-La and Onigashima, except with those cards, they are Stage whilst Itomimizu is a Character which can easily be removed from the field. At least we don't need to rest Itomimizu, otherwise he would be a terrible card. Just imagine if we need to rest him, that would be terrible, opponents can easily target him for attacks to stop the ramps. But currently, I'm quite happy with this card, 0 power means I won't attack with him and used something else. Only downside is that you can only have 1 on the field, but that also makes sense, since 2 of these will be turbo ramp seeing how we can get to 10 DONs pretty easily.

OP05 Black (Sakazuki) Deck Profile

This is just a fun deck as UB Akainu (Sakazuki) has a much better effect whilst this Akainu only have an effect which we can rarely use, depending on what you have on the board. Still handy, but can't be used constantly since we don't have that much DONs to use. I think this post will be kept simple as the deck build is very straight forward, all we need to aim is cost reducer and removals, so your opponents will not be able to build a decent board. To be honest, my Smoker build which I haven't post (at the time this was posted), is similar to this build. I guess you can swap the Leader around if you want a Smoker deck.

Looks like the day of waiting to build a Kuja Pirates deck have finally paid off. I don't mind if we need to mix with Amazon Lily stuff to build the deck, since not all of the Characters are Pirates.  Anyway Nyon-ba is just a searcher to search for those cards, pretty much that's it and nothing special about this. Although I forgot she's called Gloriosa, I think Rayleigh did mention her name in the anime, but it's been too long since I last watched that Amazon Lily arc.

I'm quite surprised that Pappag is just an Animal, but then again he doesn't look like a Merfolk. Anyway just a simple Blocker if you have Camie in play, but I don't think we would have anyway to search for Pappag in the Green build. At least he is a 2k Counter we could use for defending, but I doubt I would run him in the deck still. Even for a budget deck I think there are some better choices for replacement.

OP05 Red/Purple (Law) Deck Profile

Law is one of the very few decks where we can fill the deck with the starter deck cards and just add a few booster set cards to complete the deck. What I do like about the deck is that we will have plenty of removals thanks to our Leader effect. The more power you can reduce, the better your options can be. I think personally this is a great deck to play as long as you know what you are doing.

The bright side is that this is a when attacking effect instead of on play, but you will need to give him a DON to work. I guess that will mean we would have a 6k beat stick when we attack with him.

OP05 Yellow (Charlotte Linlin) Deck Profile

This was pretty hard to think about as I've tried using the Charlotte family, but I didn't like it. However, I will post two deck builds with this starter deck Big Mom, because I've came up with another build which I quite like. It focus more on Sky Island type of build, so I gave it a bit more aggression, using Enel Rush with Ohm and Holly combo thanks to the power of OP05. The other build will utilise more on the Life gain since we lose a bit of Life thanks to Big Mom effect. In the end there's no right or wrong build, we just need to find ways to utilise the best for the Leader effect.

Will One Piece Ever Get Reprints Collection?

After seeing the Rarity Collection II for YGO, this gave me an idea to question One Piece Card Game. The popularity of One Piece is very high, however, if Bandai wants One Piece to be as popular in term of player base, they will need reprints. I know their sales are really good, but that also includes scalpers buying a bunch too, not just players only. I know its only been a year since One Piece got release, but starter decks are out of stocks, and the only ones available are the one sold at a high price. I don't want to compare Bandai to Konami as they both are different company with the only difference is that Konami has a separate release schedule with booster boxes than their JPN counterparts, unlike Bandai games (mainly One Piece and Digimon).

I think the upgrades for Iceburg will be pretty obvious thanks to OP05 Kid making this deck pretty good, well I know we can spam big Characters pretty easily, having deadly attacks, but we also got the defence to stop our opponent's attacks. I know we will get more support from EB01 set, but that is still a long while away which is why I'll be posting the deck build first, then when EB01 arrives, I will post the update version of this build.

Budget Deck Profile - Green/Purple (Doflamingo) OP04 + OP05

I was thinking to add ST10 cards, but I don't know if people bought any ST10 decks since starter decks in this game are impossible to get. You only need to add ST10 Law and Kid if you do have the starter deck. If you want the normal build for Doffy, you can find it by clicking (here). Anyway I decided to do a budget deck on G/P Doffy. Doffy is actually not expensive to build except getting 10 cost Doffy. I think that card went up. I will try to keep this deck as budget as possible, but the deck will still be playable. Do keep in mind, by the time I've posted this budget deck, some of the cards might have went up or down depending on the future meta.

Law also got revealed on Twitter, but he's the same promo Law we got already, just a different art. So I will just talk about the new promo Sanji. He's a Germa character which means we can use him in Reiju build, unless we get a better Sanji and Stealth Black in OP07, since we are just missing those to complete the Germa collection. The effect is okay, looking at the top cards will let you know which cards you could get when you use your Germa search effects. This is so you don't wiff your searchers if you are looking for specific card. Being a Germa himself means we could also search for Sanji if needed, but that 2k Counter can definitely be handy.

[One Piece Card Information Bureau] EB01 Unboxing Video

 

Nothing more fun than opening packs and seeing what cards you pull. It is like lottery, you never know if you hit the jackpot until you find out in the end. I think there were a lot of cards revealed from the packs, we can see all sort of supports from variety of decks. But I am sad that my Nami deck didn't get anything useful to improve the mill. Bandai should just unban Cabaji so I can have my mill at full power. No idea if she will still dominate in the current meta with Cabaji unbanned.

There's one new CP card for this build, yes I'm still keeping this as CP deck. I didn't expect much when I tried this build, but it works, and surprisingly, I ended up liking the build, especially pulling of Lucci's effect. But you don't want to always trigger Lucci's Leader unless you can increase his power so your opponents will need to use more counters. Although I do think there are some cards in this build that can be replaced with other cards to benefit this deck even more.

Whilst Enel lets you survived, Katakuri lets you always check for Triggers on both field, so you would want to hit your Triggers card compare to your opponents. This is what I like about this deck, seeing what I've got in my Life, but if the Life doesn't look good, I will also have some cards which let me heal the Life to increase the chances of hitting Trigger cards. OP06 will still have cards be very useful for this deck just like Enel, so I can't wait for that to come.

Purple Kaido is not too bad as you still access the ramp cards like Blue/Purple Kaido build, but you wouldn't have the help of Blue cards in this build. Although for this build I did have to reduce the number of high cost Characters because of the amount of DON returning you can do with this deck. So you will definitely need all the ramp you can get to get back the lost DONs and be able to ramp back up to play your big Characters. On the bright side, we are mainly using ST04 as based of the deck, so if you have bought ST04 starter deck, you wouldn't need to worry about the amount of changes to the deck.

Doffy is back in action with the new support for Donquixote Pirates and not just Corazon. However for Doffy, I will be providing two deck list for the builds. One obviously using the FILM engine from OP04, but the other build will be using Donquixote Pirates support. For me, I don't think the FILM engine need to be remove entirely for OP05 support, you can keep the FILM stuff and add it OP05 stuff and the deck will still work. But some people may not like that idea which is why I have two deck builds for Doffy.

Once again, I don't really want to talk about vanilla cards, but Mountain God can work with OP04 Corazon since it is a 5 drop Character building up the 5 drop board. Although I don't think there are many 5 drop Characters for Wano Country so you would have to mix it up a bit for the deck. I know you could use it with Kin'emon Leader as Kin'emon reduces Wano Country cost by 1, allowing you to play Mountain God for 4. Using 4 DON for a 7k beat stick might be worth it in the deck, who knows. I will need to play test to find out.

OP05 Blue/Purple (Kaido) Deck Profile

I prefer Blue/Purple Kaido over Purple Kaido because of being able to access to the blue cards which can be very handy. But I will post the Purple Kaido later, as for now let's focus on Blue/Purple Kaido. This build can ramp pretty easy thanks to the Leader effect, and also add some pressure to your opponents. If they let their Characters die, you gain a new DON, reaching 10 DON with ease, but if they don't let their Characters die, they would use up their hand pretty early, making your attacks more easier to hit. Either way a win win situation.

[One Piece Card Information Bureau] EB01 Kid and Killer, Gum Gum Champion Rifle & T Bone Card Reviews

 

There are few new cards revealed in this video for EB01 set. I'm looking forward to trying EB01 for these decks. The set releases on 27th Jan for the JP format. It will take a while for the set to release in English. Although for the decks I currently own, I don't think I will need any of the cards, but we will find out later. OP05 Blue/Black (Rebecca) Deck Profile

I think Rebecca is a deck where you will take some time to understand how the deck works. Once you understand that, I think we can challenge the meta with the build. But I guess that's me who want to try and make this build a meta challenger deck. This build has one simple style, you stall for time until you get your main Characters in play. If we play in a time limited environment, Rebecca will struggle in matches as there won't be enough time to finish the game if you play your cards right.

OP05 Red/Yellow (Belo Betty) Deck Profile

 

I've already posted a budget version of Belo Betty (Belo Budget) which is made from using only OP05 set. Now I've decided to make a normal build for this deck. There are plenty of ways to build this, but I will provide two decks for this post. Once a defensive build where we can focus on defensive strategy as well as offense, whilst the other will focus all on attacking, chipping away your opponent's Life as much as possible, but also being able to rebuild the board. When OP06 is released, I think there will only be one build, because of the new cards for the deck.

I don't usually comment on vanilla cards because they are vanillas so they will be hard to talk about, but I think I can use this in Purple Luffy build by switching Luffy into Impel Down build, I think it might work, but this is just a theory, thanks to Purple Luffy ramp effect, and Wolf being a 5 cost 7k beat stick which is nice to have in the deck.

Honestly, most of the Enel decks will look the same, and so will mine. Nothing really creative about it since the deck just works with those cards. It is just about how to play those cards, that is the difference for this build. All this deck is missing is OP06 supports to make the deck even better. The only difference I would have is to provide 2 different build since we are in OP05 so this will be a lengthy post, however, both decks will be using similar cards.

I have no idea who is this guy, but judging by the artwork he did turn up in the anime. I think he's the guy who Ivankov changed to a female. Anyway the effect is not bad, but we do have a 2k Counter to use for our defence. However, you do need to put at least 3 DON onto Bellet in order to attack your opponent's Leader. I think I would run him just for the Counter seeing how Impel Down deck focus on low hand size, so we need all the stuff we can get for the deck.

If you want a ramp deck, this can go against Kaido ramp, but I think Kaido ramp is a bit better whilst you need to take a Life. Although both decks has similar concept, ramping up the DON to play your big characters, whilst also making use of returning DON back to the deck. So therefore you wouldn't need to worry about having too much ramp in your deck.

Its a shame that Mr 1 is a 5 Cost Character, otherwise I would use him in my Nami build because of the on play effect. But in Nami build you want as much DON as active as possible to use Event cards. Anyway for Croc build, I think this is very good for a rare, especially when Mr 1 can power up even more for every 2 Event cards in your trash. If I remembered correctly Baroque Works build mainly focus on plenty of Event cards to work, but I might be wrong.

I am quite surprised about this when they revealed this art. We are already skipping to the Egghead Island arc. Spoilers alert ahead for those people who haven't read the manga. I don't think the anime will be at this part at the time I've written this part.

OP05 Green/Blue (Donquixote Rosinante) Deck Profile

 

Rosinante aka Corazon had a tragic story in the One Piece series, I recommend watching that part of the anime to understand what I mean, as I do not want to spoil the fun. Honestly, the way this Leader works just makes me reminds of the story. It is typical Corazon style of doing things. Yes, the name Corazon is easier to remember than Rosinante as the name is stuck in my head, which is why I am writing Corazon on this post. I do think the Leader is underrated in my opinion, but then again, it does depends on what type of match up you are playing against.

I guess at least we have a 6k beat stick when we have 2 or less Life which is pretty strong to take down your opponent's Leader/Characters.

My One Piece Card Game Review

 

Introduction

I have been playing this game for a few months, technically just a month ago at the time I've written this. But I will grow along with the blog, improving along the way. There are some pros and cons about this game currently, and I hope Bandai will fixed this problem, so they can go against the big 3 card games. 

Why Did I Start a One Piece Card Game Blog?

 

I honestly should written this first before anything, but I'm not too far in with the stuff. I am hoping one day someone out there or Google will find this blog. As you know I previous started a blog for VG, but ended up giving up after the second reboot which didn't solve the issues they had with the first reboot. I could have given the blog to someone else, but I don't know why I didn't, I guess it was a burnout so I didn't think.

OP05 Blue/Black (Sakazuki) Deck Profile

 

Out of all the decks I've seen, I think Sakazuki is the most expensive to build. Well Black does have some expensive cards compare to other colours available in the card game. But in return, you will have no problem reducing your opponent's Character costs, and we have some cards in Blue that lets you bounce your opponent's Characters back to the deck or hand to clear their board. There are plenty of reducing Cost in this build, so you will have plenty of ways to remove your opponent's big cost Character.

OP05 Red/Purple (Monkey.D.Luffy) Deck Profile

 

I quite like this deck with both Ramp and Rush involve, literally two of my favourite mechanic we can use for this deck. Not to mention we also have cards that can power up our Leader so we can stall for time. It does make sense as we only have 3 Life with this build and 3 Life is not a lot if we don't have the cards to stall until we get our big boys in play. Although, I know playing against the next set who has OP06 Yamato Leader will struggle quite a lot, as that Yamato deck is very aggressive even if we do have 6k power as our Leader.

OP05 Best Out of the Box Budget Deck, Belo Betty

 

From a beginner point of view, grabbing the old cards is like literally impossible especially the starter decks. But luckily One Piece can be generous and let us build decks from that set only and don't need any other cards from either the starter deck or other sets, giving a beginner to play the game without finding those cards. We also got more support coming for these decks, so if you started around this time, then I personally think we should go with Belo Betty as the best budget option for OP05 set. For me Enel will need some more support from OP06 to make it work from out of the box, whilst Belo Betty, you only need OP05 cards and OP06 will make a good boost to the build.  Whilst Rosinante will need OP04 stuff if you can find the cards.
