EB01 Green (Uta) Deck Profile

I guess Uta is back again with another FILM upgrades from EB01 set and the two cards make the deck changed a lot compare to the previous build because of fitting the 2 new cards means I have to take out the combo. But at least, this made Uta Leader's effect search effect more consistent as we took out more of the non FILM cards to fit in those cards. Overall the play style will be relative the same where we spam, search and fill the hand with cards.

The Songs

Nothing changed here as we are still run these same Event cards in the build. All of these cards only works if your Leader is Uta. Backlight gives you two options for the effect, you either rest 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters or KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less rested Characters. Either these choices will not be bad especially when this card only cost you 2 DONs to use.

New Genesis is a searcher, look at top 3 cards of your deck, reveal 1 FILM card other than New Genesis and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order and set 1 DON as active. Basically we will be using this searcher for free even if we wiff the effect, but since the build is mostly FILM cards, that will be quite difficult unless you are very unlucky.

I'm invincible is more of a back up plan in case your opponents keep wiping your boards so you rarely have any Characters to attack your opponents with. The main effect is set 1 of your Uta Leader to active. For 3 DONs, this is not too bad as you can put quite a few DONs on Uta to attack with her as a beat stick, then play I'm invincible to untap her. Although to finish off your opponents, they will need to be at low Life like 1-2 Life, but I think 2 Life might be hard unless you have plenty of Characters on the field, 1 Life will be a lot easier.

Free Play

This is also the same thing, although I am thinking about reducing the number of ST12 Mihawk in the build because of the lack of Slash Attribute Characters. You've only got FILM Brook and Zoro in the deck who you can choose as I've took out FILM Law to fit in the new stuff. OP01 Kid comes with 2 effects, the first effect only works during your opponent's turn and you need to give Kid a DON to work. If this Character is rested, your opponents cannot attack any other cards other than Kid. He mostly acts like a Blocker, and if your opponents have few 5-6k beat sticks on the field, they will need to give them a few DONs to hit over the 8k number, not including you adding the counter numbers. The second effect works is activate main, you may rest this card to play one 3 cost or less Character from your hand. If you want to trigger Kid's first effect during the turn he is played, you can use the second effect to rest Kid whilst playing another Character, so on your opponent's turn, they will be forced to attack Kid protecting your Characters and Life.

FILM Brook works on play, play one 3 cost or less FILM or Straw Hat Character from your hand. Nothing too special with this effect aside from being a 5k beat stick to swing at your opponent's Leader/Characters, but I wouldn't hard play Brook unless I don't have the 2 Characters in my hand to play Brook for free.

One of these cards is FILM Luffy. FILM Luffy is a Blocker with an on play effect similar to Brook. On play, play one 4 cost or less FILM or Straw Hat Character from your hand. With this effect, we will use Luffy to target Brook in our hand to play another Character from our hand. So in one turn we will be able to have 3 Characters on the field as well as having a Blocker to protect ourselves.

ST12 Mihawk is one of the card that is not really important in this build anymore, so you could reduce the number of copies in the deck. The effect works on play, if you have 2 or less Characters, play on 4 cost or less Muggy Kingdom or Slash Attribute Character other than Mihawk from your hand rested. We mainly want to use Mihawk to play FILM Brook and FILM Brook to play another FILM Character which is cheaper than playing FILM Luffy, but only if you've got the right cards.

Blockers

Two different Blockers one come from the starter deck and the other is pretty basic. FILM Blueno is just a 2 drop Blocker which is good for early turns to stop your opponent's attacks. Maybe if you also have DONs spare to use as well. Whilst ST11 Uta has an end of your turn effect. You may trash 1 Event from your hand to set 1 of your FILM Character as active. This effect can protect your FILM Characters from being attacked by your opponents or untap FILM Luffy so we could have a 7k Blocker to use during your opponent's turn.

FILM Supports

Now we move on to the rest of the support. EB01 Sanji is pretty good, but more importantly, it actually gives us more options to choose from for FILM Luffy's effect when it comes to 4 drops choices. You do need to give Sanji a DON to trigger his effect, and the effect works on your turn. This Character gains 1k for every 3 rested DON. So if you can't maths, the maximum number we could hit with this effect is 9k power including the DON power. Plus he also have 2k counter which can be handy to use especially being a FILM Character on top for the easy search effect.

FILM Chopper also have 2k counter, and to be honest, this is the only reason I run Chopper in the build. Just like EB01 Sanji, you will need to give Chopper a DON to work. When attacking, rest 1 of your opponent's 2 cost or less Characters. Chopper is only good against low cost Characters, but if your opponents have no low cost Characters in play, then Chopper effect is pretty useless and you need to give him at least 3 DONs to hit the magic number, unless you target your opponent's lower power Characters.

FILM Nami is another searcher, but she is the main searcher as her effect works on play/when attacking. By paying 1 DON, look at the top 3 cards of your deck, reveal 1 FILM card other than Nami and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. Although we don't have FILM Law to play Nami for 1 and then pay another 1 for the effect, we do have Brook and Luffy who could play Nami for free.

Deck List

EB01 Uta

Explanation

Aside from ST12 Mihawk which can be optional choice to run in the build, I think the deck is pretty good. I didn't struggle with gaining massive hand size thanks to the increase in number of FILM cards, only 2 non FILM cards in this build and that is 8 drop Kid and Mihawk. Kid is actually more useful than Mihawk because of his effect being able to prevent your opponents from attacking any other card other than Kid, whilst Mihawk is very situation, plus lack of Slash Characters.

The deck style is pretty much the same, even with the added new cards, you will still doing the same stuff as always, playing cards for free, searching your deck building a missive hand size, and playing a lot of defensive cards like Blockers and Kid so your Life area is safe. Although if you want to be bit more aggressive with this build, you can remove 2 Mihawk for either OP06 Hody who can rush your opponents when he is played at the cost of your Life, or OP06 Zoro to do 3 attacks, going for the final push for game. Or 1 of each, wouldn't hurt but less consistent.
