OP06 Yellow (Katakuri) Deck Profile

Just like Enel build, I'll be taking out Impact/Reject so it will save me time from posting an updated version of Katakuri build. The OP05 version comes with 2 deck builds, but for this build, I will just post 1 version as the new cards from OP06 is enough. I just feels the second build isn't as efficient as the first build, no point posting the second build if the engine doesn't work vs the current engine people are using in the meta.

The Life Area

4 of these cards will let you gain Life, only one of them arrange the Life cards from your hand and your Life area. 10 drop Big Mom only works on play, if your Leader is Big Mom Pirates type, add 1 card from top of your deck to top of your Life, then trash up to 1 of your opponent's Life. Personally I think she's very good during the mid/late stages of the game where the Life will get low. Plus a 12k beat stick on the field as well as trashing your opponent's Life can put a bit of pressure for your opponents as they will need Blockers or enough counters to stop the attacks.

Kiku is a card that works on KO. If your opponent has 3 or less Life, add 1 card from top of your deck to top of your Life. 3 or less Life is not difficult to do, plus being a 6k beat stick put a bit of pressure for your opponents. They will have to lose counters in their hand, or make you gain a Life, either option is a win win situation for you. The Trigger effect is if your your opponent has 3 or less LIfe, play this card. Again this is not difficult to do with most Leaders starting at 4 Life.

I personally like using OP06 Hiyori in the deck as she will help me arrange for Triggers whilst Katakuri Leader checks the top card, so we won't be adding random Trigger cards to our hand from Hiyori's effect. The effect works on play, you may add 1 card from top or bottom of your Life to your hand. Add 1 card from your hand to top of your Life. She is also a 2k counter card, so if you don't need to use her on play's effect, the 2k counter will come in handy.

I do prefer using 7 drop Big Mom over 10 drop as she will give me enough DONs to use Katakuri's effect to look at the top card of the Life. The effect works on play, your opponent chooses trash 1 card from top of their Life or you add 1 card from top of your deck to your Life. Either way it's a win win situation just like Kiku, but I guess the downside is that if they have 0 Life, they could always choose trashing their Life, but by that time, you would already have the set up to win.

Amaru's Trigger effect is where we can gain Life. The Trigger effect is you may trash 2 cards from your hand to add 1 card from top of your deck to top of your Life. I do find this quite handy during the early stages especially if I've only got cards I wouldn't be able to use until later turns. The main effect is 1 of your Leader/Characters gains 3k power this turn. Then if you have 1 or less Life, rest 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less Characters. With this effect, we can mainly rest your opponent's Blockers to go for the final push to win.

Removals

Not a lot of removals this time around, but these cards will be enough. Gedatsu works better during the early stages of the game rather than late stage because of his on play effect. KO 1 of your opponent's Characters with a cost equal to or less than the number of your opponent's Life. So the more Life your opponents got, the higher the cost you can KO. Although even if you can't KO anything, Gedatsu is a 6k beat stick we can use to swing at your opponent's cards.

Thunder Bolt is basically the card I am using instead of Reject/Impact since it is another removal that works very similar to that card. The main effect is you may trash 1 card from top of your Life, KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. The Trigger effect is the same as the main effect but without trashing your Life. KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. We can easily put this card on top of our Life using Hiyori's effect unless you really need to use the main effect to remove one of your opponent's Characters.

Big Mom Pirates Support

Now we move on to the rest of Big Mom Pirates support. 2 of these cards are searchers, allowing us to search the cards we need and the other only has a rest effect. OP03 Pudding works on play, look at the top of your deck, reveal 1 Sanji or Big Mom Pirates card other than Pudding and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. Just a standard searcher, but we can also search for Sanji as well as Big Mom Pirates.

OP03 Perospero works on KO just like Kiku. On KO, look at the top 3 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Big Mom Pirates card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. He does not have a Counter, so we can play Perospero and provide the pressure against your opponents. If they don't KO Perospero, they will be wasting counters, and if they do, you will trigger the search effect. Although I wouldn't say the deck is running a lot of Big Mom Pirates, so you could either hit or miss with this effect unlike Kiku. The Trigger effect is you may trash 1 card from your hand to play this card, allowing us to have a beat stick during our turn, ready to attack your opponents.

Amande only works during the main. Once per turn, you may trash 1 Trigger card from your hand to rest 1 of your opponent's 2 cost or less Characters. I wouldn't say this can target important cards as most low cost Characters only have on play effects that people are using. However, Amande is a 2k counter card, so if you don't end up playing her, she will be able to protect your Leader/Characters on the field.

Triggers

Now here we got the the cards mainly for the Triggers effect. OP04 Bege's Trigger effect is 1 of your opponent's Leader/Characters cannot attack this turn, allowing us to stall. But even if you can't use his Trigger effects you could always keep him for the 2k Counter power to protect your Leader/Characters. I wouldn't really play Bege as he does nothing on the field.

Both OP04 Sanji and Satori have the exact same Trigger effect which is you may trash 1 card to play this card. Sanji is a Blocker whilst Satori is also a 2k counter vanilla like Bege. But unlike Bege, Satori can be used as a 5k beat stick, but I am not sure if you want to pay the full 5 cost for a vanilla on the field, or save up the DONs to play something else and use Satori for the counter step.

Deck List

OP06 Katakuri

Explanation

I am not running the 8 drop Katakuri in this build as we already have a lot of non Counters card in the deck, and if you run him, you will struggle to defend when you need Counters to protect your Leader/Characters. This deck is very simple as we would use Katakuri to constantly check the top cards on both field, then you could use Hiyori to replace your non Triggers with Trigger cards in your hand as we are running plenty of Triggers cards in the build.

Otherwise the deck is very straight forward, you play until you can get 7 drop Big Mom forcing your opponents to choose. Either of the 7 drop Big Mom will be difficult choice for your opponents. But if they do have 0 Life, I guess this is where 10 drop Big Mom comes into play so we can gain a Life instead of wasting 7 DONs to do nothing and just have a beat stick instead.
