OP06 Green/Purple (Doflamingo) Deck Profile

I've decided to revive this Leader because of the new FILM supports, allowing us to do plenty of searching for the deck whilst restricting your opponents from doing anything. I was planning to do 2 deck profile for Doffy, but EB01 is around the corner, so I am waiting for that set to release in English to post that build fully built with better supports for the deck. Currently this build is just a FILM deck with a bit of Donquixote stuff, so Doffy FILM build, although EB01 also have new FILM stuff, maybe I could post 2 deck profiles for Doffy then.

Resting

Resting our opponent's Characters will be a key part of this build as we have a certain card in the build that prevents our opponents from untapping their low cost Characters. Sugar have 2 effects, the first effect works during your opponent's turn. When your opponent plays a Character, if your Leader is Donquixote Pirates type, rest 1 of your opponent's Character, then rest this Character. The best thing about this effect is that we do not need to target that played Character, so we can stop your opponents from attacking if they decided to play that Character to trigger their on play's effect. The second effect works on play, rest 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less Characters.

ST05 Uta is a Blocker with an on block effect. By returning 1 DON, rest 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. This will mean with one block, we would be able to stop 2 of your opponent's attacks, or rest your opponent's 5 drop Blockers that some builds run.

Punk Gibson is an Event Counter. The Counter effect is 1 of your Leader/Characters gains 4k power this battle, then, rest 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less Characters, stopping your opponent's attacks just like ST05 Uta's effect. Not to mention, being a 2 drop counter may look like a lot, but Doffy Leader can untap 2 DONs at the end of your turn, so you will be able to use this card. The Trigger effect is rest 1 of your opponent's Characters. This effect is very good as there are no cost restrictions, so we can rest any Characters we like.

Because of Justice is a 0 cost Event Counter. The counter effect is you may trash 1 card from your hand, 1 of your Leader/Character gains 3k power this battle. Now since we are running the FILM package in this build, you will be able to search for plenty of cards, so I wouldn't worry too much about hand size. The Trigger effect is the rest effect, rest 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less Characters. Not as good as Punk Gibson, but still pretty decent.

Prevention

The main reason why we are focusing on rest effects is because of these cards that can prevent your opponent's from untapping their Characters and attacking your Leader. 10 drop Doffy works on play, up to a total of 3 of your opponent's Leader and Characters cannot become active during you opponent's refresh phase. This will allow to put a freeze or lock on your opponent's cards and protect yourself from your opponent's attacks.

Birdcage is more of a double edge sword, however, it does means your opponent will not attack recklessly when you play this Stage on the field. Birdcage have two effects, the first effect is if you have Doffy as your Leader, all 5 cost or less Characters cannot become active during both player's refresh phase. Unfortunately, this effect only targets 5 or less, so if your opponent's play an 6 cost or more Character, that will not be affected. The second effect works during end of your turn. If you have 10 DON on your field, KO all rested 5 cost or less Character, then trash this Stage. We do have ways to not make ourselves gain 10 DONs so Birdcage could disappear, we want to drag Birdcage's first effect as long as possible.

Untapping

To bypass Birdcage restrictions, we need these 2 cards. Of course you can take out Birdcage, but that card is very effective in slowing your opponents down. ST11 Uta is a Blocker with an end of your turn effect. You may trash 1 Event from your hand to untap one of your FILM type Characters. This way we won't need to worry about our attacks being reduced from Birdcage's effect since most of our FILM cards are 5 cost or less.

Spiderweb is another Event Counter like Punk Gibson. The Counter effect is 1 of your Leader/Characters gains 4k power this battle, then untap 1 of your Characters. I wouldn't worry too much about the 2 cost because of Doffy Leader being able to untap 2 DONs at the end of your turn. The Trigger effect is 1 of your Leader gains 2k power during this turn, making your Leader a 7k base, reducing the amount of counters you need to protect your Leader.

Searchers

The main thing about this build is the amount of searchers you can use to increase your hand size as well as getting specific Characters. FILM Nami works on play/when attacking, by paying 1 DON, look at the top 3 cards of your deck, reveal 1 FILM card other than Nami and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. She is definitely our main searcher as we can constantly use her effect to search unlike Festa.

Festa is a 1 drop searcher. On play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 FILM card other than Festa and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. Festa is a card where we want to see in our opening hand so we can start searching cards as soon as possible. Then, on our next turn, we can play FILM Nami for the next searcher for more FILM cards.

Draw Power

Nothing beats draw power especially when these cards actually increases your hand size and not just a hand filter card. ST04 Queen is a Blocker with an on play effect. By returning 1 DON, draw 2 cards and trash 1 card from your hand. The returning DON part will play a key role for the deck as we need to make Birdcage last on the field longer.

ST05 Tesoro's effect only works when attacking. By returning 2 DONs, draw 2 cards. This is actually +2 in your hand unlike Queen's effect who only +1 in your hand. You will not need to worry about Birdcage restrictions because we are running ST11 Uta and Spiderweb in the build who can untap Tesoro to reuse his when attacking effect. But that is only if you are confident in reducing 2 DONs and having Birdcage in play to restrict your opponent's attacks.

FILM Supports

Now for the rest of the FILM supports, we've got these 3 cards, 2 of them, play FILM for free, whilst the other is a removal. FILM Brook only works on play, play one 3 cost or less FILM/Straw Hat Character from your hand. Very simple, and we do have a few choices to choose from when it comes to 3 or less FILM Characters.

FILM Luffy is a Blocker with an on play effect that works the same as FILM Brook. Play one 4 cost or less FILM/Straw Hat Character from your hand. Basically if you got FILM Brook in hand, you could use Luffy's effect to play Brook, and Brook will be able to play another FILM Character for free filling up that board with ease. Plus Luffy is also a 7 drop Character, so even if we use his Blocker ability, it will not hinder with Birdcage's effect as Birdcage can only target 5 cost or less.

Lastly, it is Z(Navy) who is another 7 drop Character where Birdcage will not affect this card. The effect works on play, by returning 1 DON, negate the effect of 1 of your opponent's Characters this turn. Then, if that Character is 5k or less, KO it. This way we can bypass card's effect who gains power on your turn like Ohm or OP02 Kizaru, removing them from the field.

Deck List

OP06 Doffy

Explanation

Personally, I'll wait for EB01 to play this deck as EB01 will have the support to build 2 different builds for Doffy. I didn't check the date when I was writing this up, so it was pretty late when I've already written half of it. I would have skipped this build if I saw the date and post something else instead. Anyway, thanks to the FILM engine, you wouldn't really struggle with hand size, but we do need Birdcage in play to stop your opponents from attacking.

I guess we could add OP05 Baby 5 for Donquixote searcher, but we are not running many Donquixote cards, so Baby 5 searching can wiff a lot unlike the FILM cards. This is why I've ignored Baby 5 in the deck and focus mainly on FILM cards. What you also want to do in this build is being able to return DONs, so Birdcage effect can last as long as possible, forcing your opponents to replace their Characters with activate Characters, and we use rest effect to rest those Characters again.
