OP06 Black/Yellow (Luffy) Deck Profile

I personally think Luffy is easier to build out of the three brothers from the starter deck. Maybe because we've already got plenty of 5 drops from yellow and black card pool especially black Sabo, making kid Sabo have more targets between the yellow 5 drop Sabo and black 5 drop Sabo. But this is my personal opinion, as the main cards for the starter deck suits Luffy more than Sabo or Ace builds.

The Three Brothers (Kid)

First we will start with the main cards of the deck, the kid forms for the three brothers. They are important as they are able to power up your Leader until the end of your opponent's turn, making you use less Counters to protect your Leader. Kid Sabo work by trashing this Character, reveal the top card of your Life, if that card is a 5 cost Sabo, play that card, if you do, 1 of your Leader gains 2k power until the end of your opponent's next turn.

Both kid Ace and Luffy has the same effect as kid Sabo, but instead of playing 5 cost Sabo, you will be playing their 5 cost form, so kid Ace will play 5 cost Ace, whilst kid Luffy will play 5 cost Luffy. Not to mention, the power can stack, so the more kid versions you used, the more power the Leader will have, making your opponents will need more power to attack your Leader, whilst you can reduce the amount of counters you'll be using.

The Three Brothers (Adult)

Now all three of these 5 costs have different effects, unlike their kid counterpart, and all 3 of them really helps the Leader, especially when we need 0 Life to trigger the Leader's effect. ST13 Sabo works on play, you may trash 1 card from top or bottom of your Life to KO 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. Definitely a nice removal to have, plus having 1k Counter means we can bring him back from the trash using Luffy Leader's effect.

ST13 Ace has one simple effect, on play, if you have 2 or less Life, this Character gains Rush. 2 or less Life is not difficult to do if you keep trashing your Life area as well as your opponents attacking your Leader. The only difficulty is if your opponents decide not to attack your Leader, so Ace won't gain Rush easily. Anyway he is also a 7k beat stick unlike the other 2 brothers who are only 6k base power.

Although ST13 Luffy does have a power boost if you use his effect. The effect is an Activate:Main effect, once per turn, this Character gains 2k power until the start of your next turn. Then, if you have 1 or more Life, draw 1 card and trash 1 card from top of your Life. So this will means we would have an 8k beat stick with potential draw power, but that is only if you have any cards in your Life area. The life reduction will be handy as we won't be getting any face up cards from the Life to hand, so you either trash them, or just let them return back to deck.

The Three Brothers Supports

Personally I think these cards are key cards to help the the consistency. OP06 Hiyori works on play, you may add 1 card from top or bottom of your Life to your hand to add 1 card from your hand to top of your Life. Hiyori will be definitely important especially when the three kids need to reveal the top card to work, and we do not want to wait until 0 Life to trigger Luffy Leader's effect to play the 5 drops from their kid forms effects.

ST13 Makino also helps by checking your Life and placing them in any order. However, I don't feel like you need 4 in the build unless you are playing a lot of people who won't attack your Leaders. But then again, we do have a lot of ways to trash the Life even if your opponents doesn't attack. The effect works on play, you may add 1 card from top or bottom of your Life to your hand. Look at all of your Life cards and place them in your Life area in any order. The downside is definitely needing to take a Life and plus the Life area is always random, so you may not have the 5 drops you need in your Life area to trigger the three kid's effects.

Both Garp and Brother's Bond have the exact same effect, except one is a Character and the other is an Event. Garp works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal one 5 cost or less Sabo, Ace or Luffy and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. We definitely need the search especially getting the kid forms so we can power up the Leader, or getting the 5 drops so we can place them on top of the Life using Hiyori's effect. Brother's Bond has a trigger effect which is activate main effect as we need to increase the searching for this build.

Black Supports

The Black supports for the deck is only these three cards, and two of them are Blockers so we can stop your opponent's attacks especially when we can trash the Life away. We do have the power boost for the Leader, but the blockers are just in case, your opponents can hit with decent power. OP02 Kizaru is a Blocker with an effect that works during your opponent's turn. This Character gains 1k power and cannot be KO'd by effects. There are ways to go around this effect, but the key thing I am after is that we have a 6k blocker for a 4 drop card.

OP04 Sabo is even better than before, not because of the effect and Blocker ability, but he is a 5 cost Character, meaning Kid Sabo will be able to play this card from the Life area for free, whilst powering up your Leader, so a win win situation. The effect works on play, none of your Characters can be KO'd by effects until the start of your next turn, then draw 2 cards and trash 2 cards from your hand. This effect will protect your field, so I would advice to play this card first before you attack with your Characters, unless you know your opponents aren't playing any KO effects.

Lastly OP06 Moria only works on play, choose up to one 4 cost or less Character and one 2 cost or less Character from your trash. Play 1 card and play the other card as rest. Basically we do not care if we play the kid version as rest as we would be able to use their effects to play their 5 drop versions. We don't have many 4 drops in this deck except Kizaru. The main job for Moria is setting up the kid versions as we cannot play those cards from trash with Moria unlike the 5 drops who we can use Luffy Leader's effect for those cards.

Deck List

OP06 Luffy

Explanation

I want to fit as much of the key cards as possible in the build, because the three brothers already taken a lot of space which leaves me limit amount of room to fit the other cards I need for the deck. Those three brothers really suits Luffy build the best compare to Sabo and Ace builds where we could ignore some of them for the deck.

What you mainly want is setting up the 5 drops for your Life either using Hiyori or Makino, whichever ones you got in your hand. This way we don't need to wait until 0 Life for Luffy Leader's effect to work. Those cards can increase the speed of playing the 5 drops for free, as long as we've got the kid forms in our hand to do so. We do have the searchers, and 2 different ones with the same effect, so those cards will also increase your chances to get the right card.
