EB01 Purple/Yellow (Crocodile) Deck Profile

The new support in EB01 set mainly suit Purple/Yellow Crocodile deck over Blue/Purple Crocodile, however, I will post Blue/Purple Crocodile build later on. As this build is purple, we have plenty of ramp cards, so I don't think we would struggle to play high cost Characters early on the game. Plus we will have plenty of Life gain to drag the game as long as possible to finish with one swoop with high power Characters.

Ramp

Most of the Baroque Works we've got in this build are mainly ramp cards. Ms Wednesday (Vivi) is a Blocker with an effect that works during your opponent's attacks. Once per turn, by returning 1 DON, if your Leader has Baroque Works type, add 1 DON as active. Now if we combined this with Crocodile Leader, we will be gaining 1 extra DON instead, so for returning 1 DON, we get 2 DONs as active which is not bad at all.

Bon Clay will be in a few decks because of the effects and we have 2 effects for Bon Clay. The first effect works on play, add 1 DON as active. The second effect is the main effect that I do wonder if its SEC quality effect or just SR quality. The effect works when attacking, select 1 of your opponent's Characters and this Character becomes the same power as that Character this turn. So the more power your opponent has, the better for Bon Clay to become a deadly beat stick.

Mr 13 & Ms Friday only has an Activate Main effect, you may trash this Character and 1 Baroque Works Character to add 1 DON as active. Most of the Baroque Works Character have very low power, so you can trash those cards to make way for big drop Characters. A lot easier than replacing those Characters as you can make use of this effect. The Trigger effect is just play this card.

OP05 Zala only works on play, you may trash 1 card from your hand to add 1 DON as rest. Once we've finished using this effect, we could then use Mr 13 & Ms Friday to trash Zala so we could gain another DON. It is better than giving Zala a DON just to become a 5k beat stick unless your opponent has Characters that are 4k or less rested. The Trigger effect is by returning 1 DON, play this card. Thanks to this effect, we could gain an active DON using Crocodile Leader effect.

Life Gain

Thanks to the amount of ramp, we could easily play these high cost cards quite early (except Kiku as she is just a 4 drop Character) during the game, except Yamato is more of a late game card. OP04 Crocodile comes with 2 effects, the first effect works on play, by returning 2 DONs, if your Leader is Baroque Works type, add 1 card from top of your deck to top of your Life. The second effect works during your opponent's attacks, by returning 1 DON, draw 1 card and trash 1 card from your hand. This is just a hand filter effect, but we would gain an active DON thanks to Crocodile Leader's effect.

OP04 Yamato is more of a late game card, which is why we will need to play OP04 Crocodile or Big Mom to gain Life early in the game. The effect works on play, KO 1 of your opponent's Characters with a cost equal or less than the total Life of both player's Life area. Then, if you have 1 or less Life, add 1 card from top of your deck to top of your Life. We we could play Yamato early if we want to KO your opponent's high cost Characters, but we won't get the Life gain ability.

Kiku is a card that works on KO, if your opponent has 3 or less Life, add 1 card from top of your deck to top of your Life. Usually, we can put pressure to your opponents. However, we have a card in this build that can force your opponents to attack Kiku to trigger her on KO effect which is very nice to have. The Trigger effect is if your opponent has 3 or less Life, play this card. This shouldn't be too difficult to do.

I've added ST07 Big Mom for more Life gain ability, or the other way round. Thankfully this Big Mom is not restricted to Big Mom Pirates only. The effect works on play, your opponent chooses one of the following, either trash their top Life card, or you gain a Life, either effects are benefit to you. Plus being a 7 drop means we could play her early. I think she's only useless if your opponent has 0 Life, but we do have OP04 Crocodile who can discard her from hand.

Removals

We don't have much removals as I've mainly focus on the Life gain and ramp, so fitting other cards to the build will be a bit difficult. OP03 Katakuri works on play, place one 8 cost or less Character to the owner's Life area face up. This depends on certain situation as you could target your own cards, especially the one with Trigger effects, but that is if that is worth using your own cards, or choosing your opponent's Characters instead so they won't have many attacks.

Gedatsu works on play, KO 1 of your opponent's Characters with cost equal or less than the number of your opponent's Life area. So we will need to play Gedatsu early in order to KO high cost Characters. It is fine if you want to KO 1-2 cost Characters, as you could attack your opponents, then play Gedatsu for the removal.

Baroque Works Supports

Now for the rest of the Baroque Works supports, and I've just realised, Mikita is a 2 drop searcher just like Shura. The effect works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Baroque Works card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. Unlike Shura we can search for any Baroque Works card including Mikita herself. Plus once we finish using her on play effect, we can trash her using Mr 13 & Ms Friday's effect. The Trigger effect is by returning 1 DON, play this card. This will also trigger Crocodile Leader's effect to get an active DON on your field.

Okama Way, I rather say this name as it easier to write than Oh Come My Way. They both means the same thing for the translation, and also there is a song about Okama Way, which is why it is stuck in my head. It is an Event card we could use in this build. The Counter effect is by returning 1 DON, if your Leader is Baroque Works type, select 1 of your Characters, and change the attack target to that Character. Basically it is acting like a Blocker which is why I am running plenty of high power Characters in the build. However, we could redirect the attack to Kiku to trigger her on KO effect to gain a Life. The Trigger effect is by returning 1 DON, draw 2 card. This is up to you if you want to use this or not, personally I rather use the counter effect over the draw power unless I need the hand size.

Preventing

Lastly, the defensive line. OP04 Bege is a vanilla with a trigger effect and the trigger effect is what we are aiming for. The trigger effect is 1 of your opponent's Leader/Characters cannot attack this turn. Now we don't have OP06 Hiyori who could place Bege into the Life area, but we do have plenty of Life gain cards who could eventually put Bege into the Life area if you are lucky enough.

Blast Breath is another Event Counter card as we are lacking Blockers in the build. The counter effect is by returning 1 DON, 1 of your Leader/Characters gains 5k power this battle. We do have plenty of active DONs during your opponent's turn if you use cards like OP04 Crocodile and Ms Wednesday's effects who can return DONs during your opponent's turn. So 4k power will be a lot especially when we don't need to have a Life requirement for this power bonus.

Explanation

The deck is built very simple with the one goal in mind and that is ramp as much as possible, as fast as possible to get your big drops out early, especially OP04 Crocodile and ST07 Big Mom for the Life gain, although with Big Mom, your opponents could choose to trash their Life which is still a win win situation for you. You could run OP06 Hiyori if you really need to trigger the Trigger effects in the deck, but for me, I think the Life gain can increase the chances of hitting the Trigger Characters.

OP04 Yamato is a strange one in this build, if you gain too many Life, then you might as well play Yamato to KO your opponent's high cost Character and ignore her Life gain effect. Sometimes, playing high power Characters early will benefit you in the long run especially when you are going for the final push for game. We are definitely lacking Blockers, but hopefully the Counter Events and Bege will make up for that.
