EB01 Green/Purple (Doflamingo) Deck Profile

Well, its time to post this build again. I did mention about posting 2 builds with Doffy deck, but unfortunately, I'll be only posting 1 build as the FILM cards uses up too much room for other stuff. Like, removing Birdcage for instant, that is the only solution to make the FILM deck work, but I feel Birdcage is amazing control card, so your opponents won't rush you with ease.


Rest


We have 4 cards who can rest your opponent's Characters. The more you can rest, the better you can set up Birdcage especially if your opponents don't want to attack. Sugar have 2 effects, the first effect works on your opponent's turn. When your opponent plays a Character, if your Leader is Donquixote Pirates type, rest 1 of your opponent's Characters. Then, rest this Character. The best thing about this effect is that we can rest any Characters we want on the field. Sugar's second effect works on play, rest 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less Characters.

Hody is another card that let us rest any Characters we want on top of Rush ability which makes him really good in this build. The effect works on play, rest up to a total of 2 of your opponent's Characters/DONs. Then, add 1 card from top of your Life to your hand. The only downside is that we lose a Life when we use this effect, but we will be able to go for the final push for game, thanks to being able to rest 2 Characters on top of Rush ability.

ST05 Uta is a Blocker with an on block effect. By returning 1 DON, rest 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. This effect is really strong as we will be able to stop 2 of your opponent's attacks with 1 block, unless your opponents only have high cost Characters on the field.

Punk Gibson is an Event Counter and being a 2 drop Counter which is perfect with Doffy's Leader who can untap 2 of your DONs at the end of your turn. The counter effect is 1 of your Leader/Characters gains 4k power this battle. Then, rest 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less Characters. Just like ST05 Uta, we could stop 2 attacks just using this counter. The Trigger effect is rest 1 of your opponent's Characters. So just like Hody and Sugar we could rest any Characters we want, and this is optional, you may need this, you may not depending on the situation.

Prevention


On top of resting effects, we have the freeze/lock cards to stop your opponent's from attacking with Characters for a turn. 10 drop Doffy works on play, up to a total of 3 of your opponent's rested Leader and Characters will not become active during your opponent's next Refresh Phase. Basically this will only give your opponents only to attack with 3 cards if they do not have any Blockers on the field, so we could stall and set up more 10 drop Doffy for the 10k beat stick.

OP06 Arlong is a nice 6k beat stick to have in the build with the on play effect. You may trash 1 card from your hand, 1 of your opponent's rested Leader cannot attack until the end of your opponent's next turn. There are some Leaders who have when attacking effects and Arlong will be able to stop them from activating for a turn, so they won't be able to set up the combo. The Trigger effect is rest 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less Characters. Again, this depends on the situation, but since Arlong doesn't have a counter, using this Trigger effect maybe helpful.

And as always, the deck is centre around 1 card Birdcage. Once Birdcage is on the field, it will slow your opponent's attacks until you get 10 DON to remove Birdcage. The effect is if your Leader is Doffy, all 5 cost or less Characters cannot become active during the Refresh Phases. This affect both players, so cards like Sugar and Birdcage will not work well together. The second effect works at the end of your turn. If you have 10 DONs on the field, KO all rested 5 cost or less Characters, then, trash this Stage. This can be a nice board wipe, except if your opponents got 6 cost or more on the field.

Untapping


The cards that can untap stuff. 2 of them focus more on Characters so we can bypass Birdcage restrictions, whilst 1 focus on untapping DONs which will be needed with the amount of 2 drop Event Counters in the build. Diamante is a Blocker, but can also acts as a beat stick. You will need to give him 1 DON in order to use his effect. At the end of your turn, if you have 2 or more active DONs, untap this Character. This shouldn't be too difficult to do because Doffy Leader lets you untap 2 DONs at the end of your turn.

OP04 Baby 5's effect works at the end of your turn just like Diamante. You may trash this Character to untap 2 DONs. She will definitely come in handy as we have plenty of 2 drop Event Counters in the build, and Doffy Leader's effect will not be enough if we are only untapping 2 DONs.

Spiderweb is an Event Counter but also have Donquixote Pirates type so we can search it out from the deck. The counter effect is 1 of your Leader/Characters gains 4k this battle. Then, untap 1 of your Characters. Spiderweb is one of our key cards in this build as we have lack of self untap in this build for our low cost Characters to get around Birdcage. The Trigger effect is 1 of your Leader gains 2k power this turn. 2k power will be plenty to strengthen your defences as your Leader will become a 7k power base.

Searchers


We have 2 different searchers in this build to search for Donquixote Pirates cards. OP05 Baby 5 is an activate main effect, by paying 1 DON and resting this Character. Look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Donquixote Pirates card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. The good thing about this effect is that we can search for any cards we want including Baby 5 herself, which is handy considering we are running 2 different Baby 5 in the build. The downside is that we need to rest Baby 5 to use her effect, and if Birdcage is on the field, she will not become active unless we use Spiderweb to untap her.

Off White is the new card for EB01 set and the only new card that I've added to this build. It is another Event Counter and the counter effect is 1 of your Leader/Characters gains 4k power this battle. Then, look at the top 3 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Donquixote Pirates Character and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. Well unlike OP05 Baby 5, this Event only searches Characters only instead of any Donquixote Pirates cards, so you might hit and miss with this effect depending on your luck.

Blockers


We don't only have Event Counters in the build, but we also run plenty of Blockers to stop your opponent's attacks. This is just to stop your opponent's attacks and stall until you can get 10 drop Doffy on the field. OP05 Corazon (Rosinante) has an effect that works on your opponent's turn. If your rested Character would be KO'd, you may trash this card instead. This will protect your Characters against Birdcage's effect as this doesn't mention anything about your opponent's effect, just any effects in general during your opponent's turn.

ST04 Queen is more of a draw power in this build as well as making Birdcage's effect last longer. The effect works on play, by returning 1 DON, draw 2 cards and trash 1 card from your hand. Very simple, and if we play 2 Queens, we would be able to draw 4 cards and trashing 2 cards, but we will always be a plus in hand instead of being a hand filter effect.

ST10 Law really depends on the type of match up you are against since I do like having ST05 Uta in the build because of Birdcage's effect. Law works on play, by returning 1 DON, if your opponent has 7 or more cards in their hand, trash 2 cards from your opponent's hand. This will depends on the situation, mostly because we are running Birdcage, 4 is pretty good, but if your opponents have a high cost Character decks, then Birdcage will be useless meaning Law will just be a 4 drop Blocker vanilla. Although because I am also running Uta I have to cut down the number of Law in the build and just hope you can top deck Law is you need to discard your opponent's hand.


Deck List




EB01 Doffy



Explanation

The deck is pretty much the same as OP05 version where we rely on Birdcage to slow our opponents down. However, unlike OP05 version, we don't have many Characters who can untap themselves to get around Birdcage, as we are mainly focused on resting your opponent's Characters and preventing them from attacking. There is a card you can run which is ST04 Kaido for the removal and also extra Rush effect because Kaido is a 9 drop which will lets you bypass Birdcage restrictions but also means we would have another 10k beat stick. But also lets you make Birdcage stays longer on the field for your opponents to suffer.

This build I mainly focus on preventing your opponent's attacks with Arlong and 10 drop Doffy on the field, so we won't need to use as much counters to stop the attacks. Plus if we see Birdcage, that will be even better meaning your opponents will not be able to attack you normally if they want to risk losing an attack, plus Birdcage board wipe ability.
