EB01 Blue/Purple (Hannyabal) Deck Profile

The problem I've found with Hannyabal is the Impel Down stuff. Most of the Impel Down stuff from Blue and Purple are colour restricted, so mixing 2 together will not work well. So the only solution is to focus on one of the colours and build around it which is what I've figured. As much as I've want to post 2 deck profile for this build, I haven't figured out how to build the blue Impel Down deck, I just don't like that build compare to purple, maybe I'll post one later on if they get more supports.

Sadi and the Beasts

This deck is centre around the Jailer Beasts cards which is why it is important to get Sadi as soon as possible to spam the board. Plus Sadi being a 3 drop Character means Hannyabal can return her, ramp, then we could play Sadi on the next turn to play more Jailer Beasts which is this deck basic strategy. Sadi effect works on play, play 1 Jailer Beast Character from your hand. The Jailer Beast cards are currently 4 drops, I am not sure if we will be getting anymore, but being able to spam those cards and filled up the field is very nice to have.

All of the Jailer Beast cards have the exact on KO effect. If your Leader is Impel Down type, add 1 DON as rest. This will give us even more ramp on top of Hannyabal Leader's effect, so we could play big drops pretty early in the game. The only difference with the Jailer Beasts are the keyword they have. Minochihuahua has Rush, Minokoala has Blocker, Minotaur has Double Attack and Minozebra has Banish. Most likely you will be triggering Minokoala's effect because of Blocker ability.

Searchers

We have 2 different searchers for turn 1 move as we need Sadi and the Jailer Beasts in order to start spamming the field with Characters. Hannyabal works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 purple Impel Down card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. This is just a basic searcher for Impel Down, and since most Impel Down cards are purple in this build, you will be able to search most of them.

Impel Down is a Stage card, this is another searcher, but this time instead of only searching for specific purple Impel Down cards, we can search for any Impel Down cards instead. The effect is you may trash 1 card from your hand and rest this Stage. Look at the top 3 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Impel Down card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. If you can see this Stage that will be even better, but you do need to trash a card in your hand to work.

Draw

We don't have much draw power but, these are enough along with the searchers to filter your deck and search for Jailer Beasts. Kaya is just a hand filter, but that is fine as we only want to draw the key cards in this deck to pop off. The effect works on play, draw 2 cards and trash 2 cards from your hand. This is very simple and plus even if you don't need to use her effect, she has a 2k counter we can use during the Counter Step.

ST04 Queen is a Blocker as we have 2 Blockers in this build to stop your opponent's attacks. The effect works on play, by returning 1 DON, draw 2 cards and trash 1 card from your hand. This is a bit different compare to Kaya as Kaya is more of a hand filter whilst Queen increases your hand size by 1. This might makes a difference as that 1 extra card could be handy to use.

Affecting Your Opponent's Hand

In this build, we do have counters to stop your opponents from gaining massive hand size. OP06 Pudding works on play, your opponents return all cards from their hand to their deck and shuffles their deck. Then, your opponents draw 5 cards. This is very useful against decks who searches a lot of cards so they would be able to pull off combos they need on their turn. Pudding get to stop that and mess up their hand and deck if your opponent remembers the order of cards that they put back to deck. Only downside Pudding is useless if your opponents have 4 or less cards, personally there's no point making your opponents redraw their hand if they've only got a few cards.

Another we are running is ST10 Law, Law is another Blocker with an on play effect. By returning 1 DON, if your opponent has 7 or more cards in their hand, trash 2 cards from their hand. So even if you don't draw Pudding, you can always draw Law and forces your opponents to discard their hand. Plus even during late game you can always play Law for the Blocker ability to stop your opponent's attacks.

The Removals

We have a bit of everything in this build, from returning DONs, Characters and your opponent's hand to KOing Characters. Almost getting the full package for the deck. But I like it, at least whatever we play can affects your opponent's play. Magellan have two effects. The first effect works on play, by returning 1 DON, your opponents return 1 DON from their field back to their DON deck. This is actually useful as it will slow your opponents down from playing big drop Characters unless they are playing ramp. The second effect works on your opponent's turn. When this Character is KO'd, your opponent returns 2 DONs back to their DON deck. Most likely your opponents won't be targeting Magellan for attacks until they have 10 DONs, so they will not lose much. But at the same time we will have a 6k beat stick forcing your opponents to use more counters to stop the attacks.

As we have a lot of ramp in this deck, especially if you abuse Hannyabal + Sadi combo, you can easily reach 9 DONs with ease to play ST04 Kaido. Kaido works on play, by returning 5 DONs, KO 1 of your opponent's 6 cost or less Characters. Then this Character gains Rush. Another Character with the Rush ability will make this deck more aggressive, plus Kaido is a 10k beat stick, easily KOing most of the Characters that are out in play along with the on play effect.

Red Roc is an Event allowing us to remove cards from your opponent's field. You can easily fill up the field with Sadi and Jailer Beasts meaning you will have DONs left to do other stuff once you filled up the field. Red Roc main effect lets you place 1 Character to the bottom of the owner's deck. This doesn't have any cost restrictions, so we can remove your opponent's high drops so we don't need to KO those Characters. The Trigger effect is place 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less Characters to the bottom of the owner's deck. This is quite useful especially when it comes to stopping your opponent's attacks.

Raging Tiger is another Event card which let us return 2 Characters instead of 1 unlike Red Roc. The effect is place up to two 6 cost or less Characters to the bottom of the owner's deck in any order. This can be interesting as Red Roc can focus solely on high cost Characters, Raging Tiger can focus on lower cost Characters especially multiple Blockers we could try and remove. The Trigger effect is basically the same as Red Roc. Place 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters to the bottom of the owner's deck. So instead of 4 cost or less, we can target 5 cost or less which is even better as some of the key cards are mainly 5 cost or more.

EB01 Hannyabal

Explanation

What I like about this build is the amount of cards we can search and draw to get the key cards we need. You will definitely need to see Sadi in your opening hand and at least 1 Jailer Beast Character so we could start spamming the field whilst ramping up the DON with Hannyabal Leader. You only need 1 Sadi to make the deck work as we can return Sadi to hand to trigger her on play effect over and over again as long as we've got the Jailer Beasts to play.

This is also why using Hannyabal and Impel Down search effects will play a key role in this build especially Impel Down who can constantly help you search the deck for the cards. The rest of the cards in this build are mainly just support for the deck, but we definitely need some removals, so our Characters can swing safely without worrying about your opponent's Characters. Not like they would KO your Jailer Beast Characters to give you the ramp, if they do, then good for them as we've got plenty of high cost cards we can use by utilising the ramp abilities.
