EB01 Blue (Ivankov) Deck Profile

The new cards from EB01 set really work well with Ivankov over Hannyabal. The way I can describe this build is that this is the equivalent of Infernities in YGO where we go handless. Usually in this game, going handless is bad as we won't be able to use any Counters, but Ivankov Leader will let you draw cards along with your other cards. So basically you will get a new hand every turn if you decided to go handless during your turn to trigger certain card's effects.

Returning

Well in this build, there will be a lot of cards who will be returning your opponent's Characters back to the deck. Bellet works when attacking, however you will need to give him 1 DON to work. If you have 1 or less cards in your hand, return one 3 cost or less Characters to the owner's hand. The only downside to this card is that you need to give him more than 1 DON in order to hit a certain magic number. Otherwise keeping Bellet in your hand will be handy for the 2k counter since we focus on a low hand size build.

OP02 Luffy is very useful in this build, however, I guess running more than 2 can be a bit risky. We do have the draw power to draw into Luffy, so I wouldn't worry too much about the low number. The effect works on play/when attacking. You may trash 2 cards from your hand to returning one 4 cost or less to the owner's hand. Then, this Character gains Double Attack this turn. Returning 4 cost or less can be very handy as you could also return your own Characters so we can trigger their on play's effect again. Double Attack won't last long, so we only focus more on returning cards.

OP02 Bon Clay also works when attacking, and just like Bellet, you will need to give him a DON in order to trigger his effect. You may trash 1 card from your hand to place one 2 cost or less Character at the bottom of the owner's deck. The, at the end of this battle, place this Character at the bottom of the owner's deck. I guess we get to clear some room to play more Characters. But otherwise, 2 cost or less will be a bit difficult.

OP06 Pudding basically forces your opponents to mulligan so they don't get a major hand size advantage. Pudding works on play, your opponent returns all cards in their hand to their deck and shuffles their deck. Then, your opponent draws 5 cards. So the more cards they've got in hand, the better Pudding will come into effect.

OP06 Tsuru only works on play, you may trash 2 cards from your hand, your opponent returns 1 of their Characters to the owner's hand. The good thing about this effect is that we can reduce our hand as low as possible so we could use cards with low hand size. The bad thing is that your opponents could choose their weakest Character to return so they will not lose much on their field.

Red Roc is an Event that could return any Characters to the bottom of the owner's deck which is not bad for a 6 DON card. The Trigger effect is place one 4 cost or less Characters to the bottom of the owner's deck. This is up to you in if you want to use the Trigger effect or not as the main effect can be very helpful against certain Characters on the field.

Raging Tiger is another Event card which lets you place up to two 6 cost or less Characters to the bottom of the owner's deck in any order. This will help against opponents who are going wide with their board, whilst Red Roc only focus one high cost Character. The Trigger effect is place one 5 cost or less Characters to the bottom of the owner's deck. Again, just like Red Roc, it is optional and depending on what your opponent has on the field.

Draw

The draw power, although 2 of these cards are more of a hand filter rather than increasing your hand size. But we don't really want to gain a massive in the first place with this build. EB01 Inazuma works at the end of your turn, if you have 2 or less cards in your hand, draw 2 cards. This works with Ivankov Leader, as Ivankov lets you draw 2 cards when you have 0 cards in hand, whilst Inazuma lets you draw 2 whilst you have 2 or less, so in total, you will be drawing 4 cards at the end of your turn which is great to refill the hand.

Kaya's effect is very simple, on play, you draw 2 cards and trash 2 cards from your hand. Just a hand filter to get the cards you need if you don't like your hand. Plus another 2k counter Character as we don't have a lot of cards in hand to use during the counter step.

New Kama Land is a Stage card, but you don't really need a lot of copies in the build. I only run 2 because I have ways to go through the deck easily, and running more can easily be a dead draw card. I guess I could always use for trashing. The effect is simple, you may rest this Stage, if your Leader is Ivankov, draw 1 card and trash 1 card from your hand. Then, trash up to 3 cards in your hand. This is definitely helpful to get 0 cards in our hand as some of the cards in this build are non counters. But I only use this effect if I've got EB01 Inazuma in play so I could draw 4 cards at the end of my turn along with Ivankov Leader, otherwise it will only be draw and trash to filter the deck.

Blockers

Blockers will be playing a key role in this build as we are going low on hand size, so to stop high power attacks, we will need Blockers to completely stop those attacks rather than using counters in our hand. OP01 Doffy works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck and place them at the top or bottom in any order. This is important as we will be doing a lot of drawing, so drawing the counter cards to stop your opponent's attacks will definitely help a lot.

OP02 Inazuma has a continuous effect, if you have 1 or less cards in your hand, this Character gains 2k power. So we would have a 7k Blocker which is plenty to stop one of your opponent's attacks, and 1 or less cards in not hard to do especially if we only get 2-4 cards at the end of our turn.

Duval's on play effect is similar to OP01 Doffy, but instead of looking at top 5 cards, you look at top 3 cards. On play, look at the top 3 cards of your deck and place them at the top or bottom in any order. You can use OP01 Perona if you want the exact same effect as OP01 Doffy, but I wanted an extra Blocker to stop my opponent's attacks as we only get low hand size.

Impel Down Supports

Now the rest of the Impel Down stuff as these cards only work specifically with blue Impel Down cards. OP02 Ivankov works on play, draw cards until you have 3 cards in your hand, then play one 6 cost or less blue Impel Down Character from your hand. Now this is where our checking the top cards kicks in, we could play those cards first to check for any 6 drop or less Characters, so we could draw into those cards and play them with Ivankov's effect. If you are playing OP01 Doffy, you will need to use all your DONs as it will cost you 10 just to play these 2 together, but I guess in return, you could potentially get 3 Characters on board.

OP02 Buggy is the Impel Down searcher. The effect works on play, look at top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 blue Impel Down card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. We wouldn't have any trouble in searching as this is a mono blue deck and we have a large number of Impel Down cards in the build.

EB01 Ivankov

Explanation

The deck style is very simple as I've already mentioned that the deck style is closed to Infernities in YGO terms. But you only go handless if you got EB01 Inazuma on the field. There's really no point going handless early if you don't have the cards you need on the field, because there is always a risk that going handless early means your opponent can just rush you with ease seeing how there are some rush builds out there.

That is also where we got our returning kicks in as most of the Characters that return cards are low cost Characters. They will be useless if your opponent plays a high drop Character, we would have to rely on Red Roc or Raging Tiger for that. We also got Blockers to strengthen the defences as low hand size means we won't be able to use a lot of counters. You actually filter your deck very easy, so I don't think it will be too difficult to draw cards that are only 2 copies in the deck. I can't fit in 3 copies as I need the room for the other cards I need in the build, I've tried to cramp as much cards as possible in one deck.
