OP07 Red (Dragon) Deck Profile

Dragon is a very interesting Leader, but it is a shame that some Revolutionary Army cards will be useless for this build, in fact, we don't really care about Revolutionary Army with Dragon Leader. All we care is about how to make use of the DONs, especially when Dragon can swap those DONs onto a different Character, so that Character will also have additional power boost.


Power Bonus


Power bonus is always great to have especially when they can hit magic numbers and forces your opponents to use Counters or Blockers to stop the attack or they take a Life. We will start with Kid & Killer who have the Rush ability with a when attacking effect. If your opponents have 2 or less Life, this Character gains 2k power, making Kid & Killer a 7k beat stick. Getting your opponents to 2 or less Life is not difficult at all especially if we focus on being aggressive against your opponents.

OP02 Makino is mainly for your 1 cost Character so we can use those 1 drops to attack your opponent's cards. The effect is an activate main. You may rest this Character to give 1 of your 1 cost red Character 3k power. Although even if you don't use Makino, the 2k counter will be handy.

OP01 Luffy will be very important in this build as he is the one that constantly let you attach rested DONs to this Character, allowing you to use Dragon Leader's effect to swap those DONs to another Character. Luffy have 2 effects, the first effect works by attaching 2 DONs to this Character. This Character cannot be KO'd by Strike attribute Characters. The second effect is an activate main, once per turn, attach 2 rested DONs to this Character. This effect will trigger the first effect as well as making Luffy a 5k beat stick to swing at your opponent's cards.

Dragon took a while to get released even though we have Revolutionary stuff during OP05 and OP06 set. Dragon have the Rush ability with an on play effect, attach 2 rested DONs to 1 of your Leader/Characters. This is similar to OP01 Luffy, except we can give DONs to other cards rather than the Character himself. He is an 8k beat stick, so we really don't want to give him the DONs unless we are going for final push for game.

Power Reducers


The two power reducers in the build and both only works if you've got Revolutionary Army Leader which Dragon is one. Karasu have 2 effects, the first effect works on play, if your Leader is Revolutionary Army type, reduce 1 of your opponent's Leader/Characters by 1k this turn. The second effect works when attacking, if this Character is 7k power or more, reduce 1 of your opponent's Leader/Characters by 1k this turn. What I like about Karasu is the ability to reduce your opponent's Leaders power, the more you reduce, the harder for your opponents to use counters to stop the attacks without Blockers.

Koala on the other hand only have an on play effect, if your Leader is Revolutionary Army type, reduce 1 of your opponent's Characters by 3k this turn. To this day, I still don't know why Koala is a SR even though she is from OP05 set. I guess it's because she is a 3k beat stick who works with Betty Leader power up, but outside is kinda meh. But reducing your opponent's power by 3k can make your Characters hit the Character easily.

Removals


As we have the power to reduce your opponent's power, these removals could easily KO those Characters instead of targeting very specific cards. OP05 Robin works on play, KO 1 of your opponent's 1k power or less Characters. 1k is a low number, and without power reducers, we can only target very low power Character. Although I still don't think the 2 power reducers will be enough for us to make use of Robin's effect. On the bright side, she is a 1 drop Character, meaning Makino can make her into a beat stick to swing at our opponent's cards.

The only thing I would ignore about Lindbergh is the Trigger effect as we are not running multicoloured Leader in order to play him from the Life area. He is a Revolutionary Army, so we can use a different way to play him for free. The effect works when attacking, if this Character have 7k or more power, KO 1 of your opponent's 3k power or less Characters. 3k power or less is more possible to KO than Robin's 1k or less, plus getting to 7k power will be very easy thanks to Dragon Leader's effect.

Revolutionary Army Supports


More Revolutionary Army cards for this build. OP05 Ivankov only has 1 effect and it is an activate main effect. If this Character have 7k power or more, play up to one 5k power or less Revolutionary Army Character other than Ivankov from your hand. We have plenty of choices to choose from as I've kept it Revolutionary Army base, so we could spam cards easily. However, if you want to use OP05 Ivankov on the turn he is played, then I would recommend having OP01 Luffy on the field so we could swap the rested DONs from Luffy to Ivankov to trigger his effect and spam the field.

Betty is a searcher with a simple on play effect, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Revolutionary Army card other than Betty and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. There are a lot of cards we want in hand with this search effect like Ivankov or Karasu for example, so we could set up the combos and go for the final push to win.

OP06 Inazuma has 1 simple effect, if this Character have 7k power or more, this Character gains Banish. Banish is a nice keyword to stop your opponents from using Trigger effects, and it is also not hard to give Inazuma 7k or more power as we can swap DONs around using Dragon Leader's effect. So he is a nice pressure card, either make your opponents to use counters or Blockers, or they will need to trash the top card of their Life area.

Lastly, we've got OP06 Ivankov in the build, but unlike OP05 version, this one works on play, look at the top 3 cards of your deck and play one 5k power or less Revolutionary Army Character among them. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. The best thing about this effect is that we can also play OP05 Ivankov, so we could potential spam 1 more Character for free, filling up the field in one go.

Straw Hat Supports


I've also added Straw Hat supports in this build, but the number of Straw Hat is quite low compare to Revolutionary support, however, if we can get some of those Straw Hat in hand, it will be easier for the deck. OP01 Nami is a searcher, the effect works on play, look at top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Straw Hat card other than Nami and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. Even if we wiff the effect, we still have Makino to power up Nami and make her into a nice beat stick to swing at your opponent's cards.

ST01 Luffy is another Rush Character, so we have 3 Characters in total with the Rush ability. The effect will need 2 DONs to work, but this shouldn't be too difficult in this build with the ability to move DONs around. When attacking, your opponent cannot activate Blocker this battle. So Luffy is more like a finisher, especially when you also have Karasu on the field, reducing your opponent's Leader power, so they will need a lot of counters to stop Luffy attack as he is an 8k beat stick.

Finally the last Straw Hat card is the 0 cost Event Counter, Bad Manners for short. The counter effect is the same as any other colours, you may trash 1 card from your hand, 1 of your Leader/Characters gains 3k this battle. Only the trigger effect will be different. The Trigger effect is reduce 1 of your opponent's Leader/Characters power by 3k this turn. 3k is a lot of power, especially when your opponents are hitting the magic numbers, so this will force your opponents to use more DONs in order to make their cards hits.

OP07 Dragon



Explanation

There are some cards I still want to add to the build, but lack of room to do so like ST01 Brook and OP01 Sanji who can add 2 rested DONs to themselves or 1 of your Characters, so we can use Dragon Leader's effect and swap those DONs around to your other Characters, although Brook only works for 1 turn, whilst Sanji will mean sacrificing your Life.

What we want is being able to make use of the DONs, so we could swap those DONs around and make your Characters hit some deadly numbers as well as triggering their effects. Some of those Characters need at least 2 DONs to work, especially OP05 Ivankov if we want to start spamming Characters to work. Karasu will be one of your key cards as he is able to reduce your opponent's Leader power, and having 2 Karasu will hurt your opponents. We also got the Rush cards who are able to attack your opponents as soon as they are played, going really aggressive with this build. I guess unlike Belo Betty build, we won't need to worry about hand size, since that was that deck major weakness.
