OP06 Blue (Nami) Deck Profile

Nami Mill is back thanks to 1 card in OP06 set. But the overall build won't have really changed much since we need as much cards as possible to thin our deck in order to win. So the base deck will be really the same as what we have got so far. I do hope we get more Event or low cost Characters that draw in future so we can have Nami Mill can compete against the meta, but I think by the time they do that, Nami would be on the watchlist for the ban list.

Mill

There are more mill cards in the card pool than these 3. However, these 3 cards are the main ones that are widely used in the Nami builds. OP03 Zeff have 2 effects, the first effect, you need to give him a DON to work. When this Character's attack deals damage to your opponent's Life. You may trash 7 cards from top of your deck. This will make Zeff a 7k beat stick putting pressure for your opponents to use Counters or you would be able to mill a lot of cards. Not on that, we also got an on play effect. Return 1 3 cost or less Characters to the owner's hand and you may trash 2 cards from the top of your deck. This effect is very good as we could reuse our low costs on play effects again.

Rubber Band of Doom is an Event counter card. The counter effect is 1 of your Leader/Characters gain 2k power this battle, then you may trash 1 card from top of your deck. The effect is okay, at least we can get the early mill. For the Trigger effect, you get to draw 1 card and trash 1 card from top of your deck. I personally think this Trigger effect is better than the Counter effect as we are able to -2 cards from out deck instead of 1, so if I manged to see this card in Life area, I would mainly activate it, unless I need Counter cards in my hand which this deck have no problem with.

Giant Gavel is a lot better than Rubber Band of Doom when it comes to the Counter effect. You may trash 1 card from your hand, 1 of your Leader gains 4k power, then you may trash 2 cards from top of your deck. The only downside to this Event is that you only get the bonus for your Leader and not your Characters unlike Rubber Band. The Trigger effect is return 1 4 cost or less Character to the owner's hand. This is up to you if you want to use the Trigger effect to reduce your opponent's attacks or if you want the mill. It will depends on the situation you are in.

Draw

Another way to make the deck deck out quicker is using these draw power cards to go through our deck whilst also maintaining a decent hand size to protect ourself from your opponent's attacks. Kaya works on play, draw 2 cards and trash 2 cards from your hand. Just a hand filter. You will have some cards that will be useless for the main effect as we want to aim for their Trigger effects.

Speaking of Trigger effects, Desert Spada is one of them, although the Counter effect is very decent I guess. 1 of your Leader/Characters gain 2k this battle, then look at top 3 cards of your deck, place them at top or bottom in any order. This is so you don't accidently mill the cards you do need, and draw the cards you don't need. The Trigger effect is draw 2 cards and trash 1 card from your hand. This Trigger effect will allow you to +1 in your hand as well as losing 2 cards in your deck. It is a win win situation as we want to deck out as soon as possible.

Sanji's Pilaf is just Pot of Greed, but unlike Pot of Greed we do need to pay 3 DONs to use this Event. For anyone who doesn't know what Pot of Greed do, it is just draw 2 cards. The Trigger effect is the same as the main effect. Personally I don't want to see it during the early turns of the game as I want to use the DONs for other cards, but mid to late game, it will be very hand, and hitting the Trigger effect would be even better as you won't need to pay the 3 DONs.

White Snake is the latest addition to the deck from OP06 set, and this one card is what makes me revive Nami Mill build. The Counter effect is, 1 of your Leader/Characters gain 1k power this turn and draw 1 card. The power bonus last for 1 turn, making Nami really defensive when your opponents decided to attack your Leader, plus that extra draw power helps a lot in closer of decking out. The Trigger effect is look at the top 5 cards of your deck and place it at the top or bottom of your deck in any order. I'm not really a big fan of the Trigger effect, but if I've got the cards in my hand, I sometimes use the Trigger effect to see what cards I will draw/mill.

Love Love Mellow is another 2 drop Event Counter card. The Counter effect is 1 of your Leader/Characters gain 4k power this battle, then if you have 3 or less cards in your hand, draw 1 card. Very strong power, but unfortunately in order to trigger the draw power, we need to have low hand size, and if you manage to trigger the other draw power cards, having low hand size will be difficult until the late game. So seeing this card during the early games, it will be stuck in your hand until you will be able to draw with the effect.

Impel Down

I guess currently, the other type of support we are using is the Impel Down engine as some have search effects, whilst some have draw power which will increase the chances of milling the deck out. OP02 Buggy is a searcher for Impel Down. On play look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 blue Impel Down card other than Buggy and add it to your hand, then place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. We have quite a lot of Impel Down cards especially the events, so by adding 1 of them to your hand can increase the chances of milling out the deck.

OP02 Mr 1 is another searcher but only searches your trash instead. On play, add 1 blue 1 cost Event card from your trash to your hand. Now there's mainly 2 cards you want to target with this effect. Either Rubber Band or Giant Gavel as both of these cards will help you mill your deck more especially Giant Gavel.

Impel Down All Stars only works if you have a Impel Down Leader which Nami is not Impel Down. So the main effect is useless, but the reason why I am running this event is because of the Trigger effect. The Trigger effect is just draw 2 cards. This is just like Sanji's Pilaf and yes, you will need to rely on luck to have this card in your Life area and not in your hand if you want to have the draw 2 to empty your deck.

The only reason why I am running Arabesque Brick Fist over other removals because it is an Impel Down card so Buggy will be able to search it out from your deck to thin your deck a little. The effect is return 1 4 or less Character cost to the owner's hand. You can choose your own especially Kaya to empty the deck, or you can return your opponent's Characters to slow their attacks down so you can survive longer. The Trigger effect is just activate main which will be handy if you see this in your Life area as you could do the same depending on the situation.

Death Wink is basically like Love Love Mellow where you need low hand size in order to trigger the draw power. The counter effect is 1 of your Leader/Characters gain 6k power this battle, then draw cards so that your hand 2 cards in your hand. To maximise this card draw potential, this card must be the only card in your hand if you want to draw 2 cards, plus having 3 DONs untap so you could use Death Wink. The Trigger effect is return 1 7 cost or less Character to the owner's hand. This can return your opponent's big drop Characters so it makes using Counters more easier to protect Nami from getting hit. Otherwise you could target your Characters to try and thin the deck.

OP06 Nami

Explanation

I personally won't attack with the Nami Leader unless I'm down to few cards of my deck and will need Nami to mill my deck out, and it is also one of the few decks where we rely on Events over Characters. The Characters are the little support to increase the chances of making our deck deck out. The more you can draw from your deck, the easier the milling we can do as drawing would increase the hand size, as well as being able to draw the mill cards we need.

Most of the time, I would just use Nami to attack my opponent's Characters as you don't want to give them a field to attack your Life. The deck does hurt when your opponents are playing aggressive since this build lacks the Characters to attack your opponent's rested Characters. So in the end, you just need to hope for hitting Trigger effects to start mill your deck as well as bouncing cards to your opponent's hand.
