EB01 Red (Zoro) Deck Profile

A very easy update with Zoro deck, but I don't think I've ever posted OP06 version. One of the cards from OP06 set give a great power bonus to this build. All I've did was to add more Rush Characters thanks to one of the cards from EB01 set. Overall, the deck mainly uses the same old cards for the build as we want to be as aggressive as possible, attacking your opponents before they can start playing big drop Characters to the field and start removing your Characters.


Rush


Aside from OP01 Zoro who only have a Rush ability, the other Characters have an additional effect we can use. Kid & Killer effect works when attacking, if your opponent has 2 or less Life, this Character gains 2k power during this turn. Making your opponents to have 2 or less Life shouldn't be too difficult thanks to the amount of low cost Characters we have in the build to start rushing your opponents.

ST01 Luffy also works when attacking, however, you need to give Luffy 2 DONs to work. Your opponent cannot activate Blockers this battle. We've got plenty of power boost cards including Zoro Leader's effect, so we can easily force your opponents to use as much counters from their hand to stop Luffy. Otherwise, they would have to take some damage.

Searchers


The searchers who can search for the key cards from the deck, you can easily get a decent hand size thanks to the search effect. OP01 Nami works on play, look at the top 5 cards from your deck, reveal 1 Straw Hat card other than Nami and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. This build have plenty of Straw Hat cards, so it will be very difficult to miss the effect.

OP02 Dadan also works on play, look at top 5 cards of your deck, reveal one 1 cost red Character and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. Just like Nami searcher, we are running plenty of red 1 cost Characters, unless we get unlucky with the search effect.

OP03 Buggy have 2 effects, the first effect is mainly against Slash cards. This Character cannot be KO'd by Slash cards, so this will also includes opponent's Leader. The second effect works on play, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 red Event and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. Unlike the other 2 searchers, for Events, we are only running 12 in totals, so you could hit and miss with this effect.

Power Boosts


The cards that mainly give power bonus to your other cards, mainly 1 cost Characters, so once they combined with Zoro Leader's effect, they would be able to hit magic numbers. OP02 Makino has an activate main effect where you need to rest this Character to give 1 of your 1 cost red Character 3k power this turn. 3k power will be helpful to make those 1 drop Characters hit 5k power, but thanks to Zoro Leader's effect those Characters will be hitting 6k power instead.

Magura is basically the on play effect of Makino. 1 of your 1 cost red Character gains 3k power this turn. The only major difference is that we can use Makino's effect constantly, but Makino also have a 2k counter we could use compare to Magura 1k counter. But both cards will be able to make multiple 1 cost Characters so decent beat sticks.

King Kong Gatling is an Event with a main effect. 1 of your Leader/Character gains 3k power this turn. Then, if your opponent has a 7k power or more Character, 1 of your Leader/Character gains 1k power this turn. This effect is not bad at all, we still get the same power bonus as Makino and Magura, but also additional power if your opponents have 7k power or more beat stick on the field. The Trigger effect is KO 1 of your opponent's 5k power or less. Now you might need this effect to reduce some of your opponent's Characters since the KO ability is also as important as the power boost ability.

Straw Hat Characters


More 1 cost Straw Hat Characters for the build as well as ST01 Brook for the deck. All of these can be searched using Nami's effect, but two of these cards are in the deck for the 1 cost rather than the effect. OP05 Robin works on play, KO 1 of your opponent's 1k power or less Characters. We don't have any power reducers in this build as the main reason she's in the build for the cost. Although we can still target very specific cards with Robin's effect.

ST01 Brook works on play, give up to 2 rested DONs to 1 of your Leader/Characters. We do have some cards who needs DONs to trigger their effects like Zoro Leader or ST01 Luffy. But we can also target our low power Characters like OP02 Dadan or OP03 Buggy to hit magic numbers.

Events


All of our Events are also Straw Hat type so Nami can search out all of these cards. Radical Beam is a Event counter and the counter effect is 1 of your Leader/Character gains 2k power this battle. Then, if you have 2 or less Life, that card gains an additional 2k power. This will mean one of our cards will gain 4k power in total for that battle. The Trigger effect is 1 of your Leader/Character gains 1k power this turn, so this could strengthen the defences and make Zoro a 6k Leader.

Bad Manners is a 0 cost Event counter we can use. The counter effect is very standard as all colours with have this effect. You may trash 1 card from your hand, 1 of your Leader/Character gains 3k power this battle. The Trigger effect is 1 of your opponent's Leader/Character loses 3k power this turn. Losing that 3k power could slow your opponents down as they might need DONs to power up their cards just to hit the magic number.

Diable Jambe is basically ST01 Luffy, but better. The effect is select 1 of your Straw Hat Leader/Characters. Your opponents cannot activate Blockers if that card attacks this turn. The effect last for 1 turn, and plus with plenty of power bonus in this build, your Straw Hat card can hit some deadly numbers along side ST01 Luffy, forcing your opponents to use more counters from their hand. The Trigger effect is KO 1 of your opponent's 3 cost or less Blockers. This might be a bit difficult since not every builds will run 3 cost or less Blockers, so we will mainly be using the main effect.


Deck List




EB01 Zoro



Explanation

The deck is very straight forward, we will be doing a lot of searching to search for some cards. You definitely need Makino or Magura in hand if you want to power up the 1 cost on the field. King Kong Gatling can power up any cards depending on what kind of attacks you want to use. Zoro Leader will make those cards hit some deadly numbers.

Once your opponents reaches down to 2 Life, Kid & Killer will then become an 8k beat stick in total if we also includes Zoro Leader power bonus. We do have plenty of Rush Characters, so after you finished attacking with the 1 drop and Leader, we could then play the Rush Characters and attack. Although ST01 Luffy is most effective when your opponents have 1 or less Life and some Blockers on the field, as Luffy will be able to break through those defences.
