EB01 Green (Oden) Deck Profile

A mono green Oden deck instead of R/G build using some of the EB01 stuff. I quite like this Oden Leader because we get to untap DONs to play more stuff. Of course we do need to trash a card, but if we can play more stuff, then it is worth the cost. OP07 does have 1 card for this build, but I won't be sure if I have the time to get around and post updated builds for old Leaders.


Rest


We do have plenty of cards that will rest your opponent's Characters, so we could attack their rested Characters or stop any Blocker abilities from activating. OP01 Izo has a simple effect that works on play, rest 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less Characters. Now even if you don't use his effect, you can use the 2k counter instead if there are nothing to rest.

Okiku is a lot better than Izo when it comes to the effect, however, we do not have a counter on this card, meaning you could trash him/her using Oden's effect. You will need to give Kiku a DON to use the effect. When attacking, rest 1 of your opponent's 5 cost or less Characters. On the bright side, we will have a 6k beat stick with the ability to rest any annoying 5 cost Characters that could be a threat for you.

Hody is a very strong card for green because of the Rush ability along with the on play effect. Now we rarely see Rush in Green as this is a Red style kind of ability. The effect is rest up to a total of 2 of your opponent's Characters/DONs. Then, add 1 card from top of your Life area to your hand. Yes, you do lose a Life, but in return, we will be either resting your opponent's Characters or DONs depending on what cards they've got on their field and in their hand.

Free Play


Here we have 2 cards that can play Characters for free. I am not running ST12 Mihawk in the build because of the lack of Slash Characters, and I don't want to add more Slash Characters just to use Mihawk's effect. EB01 Hiyori is an activate main effect, so you don't have to use the effect until you've got the right cards in your hand. The effect is you may trash this card to play one 5 cost or less Wano Character other than Hiyori from your hand. Then, draw 1 card. Of course, I' mainly target the 5 cost in this build as it is better to use Hiyori's effect to play a 5 drop Character instead of 3 or less. Well, you could also use the effect for the extra draw power as we will need all the draw power we can get for the deck.

OP01 Kid is one of the main card that protects your field from being attacked, so your opponents will need to use up their DONs just to hit over annoying number against Kid. Kid's come with two effects, the first effect works on your opponent's turn. However, you will need to give him a DON to work. If this Character is rested, your opponent cannot attack any other card other than the Character Kid. As long as Kid stays on the field, it will be difficult for your opponents to attack properly unless they have a removal. The second effect is an activate main effect. You may rest this Character to play one 3 cost or less Character from your hand. Now this effect will trigger his first effect so we wouldn't need to wait until Kid to attack to get him rested. But we will need to use up 9 DONs for that turn, which shouldn't be a problem for Oden who can untap DONs.

Wano Supports


OP07 Otama will also help dramatically thanks to her being a searcher, so she would be able to search out these cards when the set comes out in EN. But of course, R/G Oden and G/Y Yamato will be more popular than this Leader. OP01 Momo has an activate main effect. By paying 1 DON and resting this Character, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Wano card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. The only downside to Momo is that we need to rest him to work, but in return, we can search for any Wano cards including himself, so I guess this is a trade off.

OP01 Denjiro only works specifically for Oden Leader and what's more is that he is a 5 drop, which means we could play him for free using EB01 Hiyori's effect. You will need to give a DON to Denjiro to trigger his effect which should not be difficult as we can untap DONs. When attacking, if your Leader is Oden, untap 2 of your DONs. Basically if we combine with Oden Leader, we could untap 4 DONs in one turn, and that 4 DONs we could use to play another 4 drop or less Character. Plus Denjiro will be swinging for 8k beat stick which is not bad for a 5 drop Character.

OP01 Yamato is very simple, she is treated as the card name Oden according to the rules, but this doesn't matter as we need Oden Leader for Denjiro's effect to work and not Oden Character. Yamato have Double Attack and Banish. This would put pressure against your opponents as they will be trashing 2 of their Life if Yamato managed to hit the Leader, but she is only 5k beat stick, so very easy to defend against if you don't put DONs on Yamato. Although if you see her during the late game, she is technically useless, I've only added her to the deck for more 5 drop options for EB01 Hiyori's effect.

Ryuma is a removal, the effect works on play/on KO, giving your opponents nightmare if they managed to KO Ryuma. However, there is always a way to get around Ryuma's effect as there is a cost restriction. The effect is KO 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less rested Characters. Unfortunately, we can only KO 4 cost or less rested Character, but I've added him because he is a Wano card we could use for the deck.

Blockers


As Oden and Denjiro are able to untap 2 DONs, it will mean we will have 2 DONs spare to play something, and what's more than playing these 2 drop Blockers to strengthen our defences. Although for OP01 Killer, you will need a DON to trigger his effect, so technically, he will cost you 3 DONs altogether if you plan on using Killer's effect. The effect works on block, if you have 3 or more Characters, draw 1 card. That extra draw power will be very handy as we will be doing some trashing in our hand for Oden's effect.

OP05 Corazon has an effect that works during your opponent's turn. If your rested Character would be KO'd, you may trash this Character instead. This is extremely useful when you have OP01 Kid on the field, as Kid will be protected from KO effect thanks to Corazon's effect, making your opponents even more annoyed with double protection on the field. If they swing with a lot of power, we could use the Blocker ability, and if they use KO'd effects, we can trash Corazon.

Events


Two Event counter cards we are running. Paradise Waterfall is a Wano card so we can search it from deck using OP01 Momo's effect. The counter effect is 1 of your Leader/Character gains 2k power. Then, untap 1 of your Characters. I think untapping our Characters will be handy as there are some Characters like Denjiro who I want to keep on the field, and this will prevent your opponents from targeting that Character as the attack target. The Trigger effect is KO 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less rested Characters. This is pretty much the same effect as Ryuma.

I am also running the 0 cost Green Event. I'm not going to write the name of this card because its one of the longest name in the game. The counter effect is you may trash 1 card from your hand, 1 of your Leader/Character gains 3k power. We do have plenty of non counter cards in the deck, so having this card will be very handy. The Trigger effect is rest 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less Characters. This will help to reduce the number of attacks your opponents can do unless they are 5 drop or higher.

EB01 Oden



Explanation

Not much explanation I can do with this build, as we mainly focus on Wano stuff for Oden Leader to untap some DONs and play more Characters, or use those active DONs to power up your Characters. The are some cards I've been considering to use in the build like OP01 Drake for more removal or OP04 Doffy to prevent your opponent's cards from untapping, but both of these cards are high cost Characters, and running too many in the deck means we won't be playing much cards early turn.

Running OP07 Otama will definitely improve this deck, and I can easily take out Shinobu for Otama, and maybe run the Event card to draw 2 cards as we need a lot of draw power if we are going to trash. Well that is when OP07 comes out then I'll start working on this Oden build again. I do like untapping DONs to play more stuff or use the DONs for more power.
