EB01 Green/Black (Perona) Deck Profile

I wouldn't say there's much of an update for Perona build and I've only changed some cards with obvious choices from EB01 set. Overall, I've kept the build mainly the same as OP06 version with a slight change so we could utilise the new cards in the build. I do know it's a bit late when OP07 is just around the corner, and maybe we could use some of the cards from that set for this build.

Cost Reducer

We have a few cost reducers so we could reduce your opponent's Characters cost down to 4 to use Perona's rest effect against your opponent's Characters. EB01 Brook works on play/when attacking, reduce 1 of your opponent's Characters cost by 1. Then, KO 1 of your opponent's 0 cost Character. In order for Brook to KO 0 cost Characters we will need to use a few cost reducers to work.

OP02 Tsuru is an example, but her effect is very simple. On play, reduce 1 of your opponent's Characters cost by 2 this turn. This effect will work better with your other cards who targets 4 cost or less Characters rather than Brook. Not really recommended to use Tsuru with Brook's effect unless you can get your other cost reducers involve.

OP02 Kuzan have 2 effects, the first effect works on play, draw 1 card. The second effect is the main effect I am after. When attacking, reduce 1 of your opponent's Characters cost by 4 this turn. Now 4 is a lot especially when we could target 5 cost Characters, then use Brook's effect to reduce that Character by 1 and then KO that Character.

Ice Age is an Event and the main effect is reduce 1 of your opponent's Characters cost by 5 this turn. This effect is better than Tsuru when it comes to 1 cost effect, however Tsuru does have 2k counter compare to Ice Age who is just an Event card. The Trigger effect is KO 1 of your opponent's 3 cost or less Characters. This might be a bit difficult to trigger, but we are mainly after this card main effect over the Trigger effect.

Removals

Not much removals with only these 3 cards involve. We are mainly resting your opponent's Characters with Perona's effect, then attacking into those Characters. But having some removals can save us attacks in attacking those rested Characters. EB01 T-Bone works on play, KO 1 of your opponent's 2 cost or less Characters. This effect is not too bad if we combine this with Tsuru to reduce 4 cost Characters to 2. Plus he also have 2k counter, so if you are not playing T-Bone that power will come in handy.

OP01 Drake works on play, KO 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less rested Characters. I guess the good part is that he is a Navy card which means we would be able to search Drake using Brannew's effect, otherwise I would rather play Ryuma who cost 1 less, still have the same base power as Drake.

Ryuma's effect works on play and on KO, and it is the exact same effect as OP01 Drake. KO 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less rested Characters. So we would have 2 cards who have the ability to KO rested Characters which is not hard to do considering Perona can rest those Characters. I guess the only downside is the lack of counters, so having Ryuma in hand can really hurt unlike Drake.

Searchers

Now we've got the searchers, 2 different searches to search out two different type of cards. Brannew works on play, look at top 3 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Navy card other than Brannew and add it to your hand. Then, trash the rest. The deck is mainly filled with Navy cards, so we can choose a lot from looking at the top 3.

OP05 Baby 5 has an activate main. By paying 1 DON and resting this Character, look at the top 5 cards of your deck, reveal 1 Donquixote Pirates card and add it to your hand. Then, place the rest at the bottom of your deck in any order. Unlike Brannew, we don't have much choices to choose from when it comes to Donquixote Pirates cards, but at least she can search out herself.

Defences

Now for the defences, we've got some nice Blockers, annoying for your opponents and an Event Counter card. OP02 Kizaru (Aka Borsalino) has an effect that works on your opponent's turn. This Character gains 1k power and cannot be KO'd by effects. He is definitely really handy to have as we can get a 6k Blocker for 4 DONs, plus not being able to KO'd by effects reduces your opponent's choices to choose from. However, there are ways to get around this effect, like hitting Trigger effects to KO Kizaru.

This is also why we are also running OP04 Sabo as back up. Sabo works on play, none of your Characters can be KO'd by effects until the start of your next turn. Then, draw 2 cards and trash 2 cards. So not only we get to protect our Characters from Trigger effects that can KO, but we also get to filter out our hand, getting rid of cards we won't be needing.

OP05 Corazon (aka Rosinante) has an effect works on your opponent's turn just like OP02 Kizaru. If your rested Character would be KO'd, you may trash this Character instead. Obviously, this is more against your opponent's KO effects as Corazon is a Blocker, so it will be very strange to use this effect instead of Blocker ability.

Now we move on to the 0 cost green Event Counter. Definitely have one of the longest naming, so I won't be writing the name of the card whole. The counter effect is the same as any of the 0 Event Counters for any colours. You may trash 1 card from your hand, 1 of your Leader/Characters gains 3k power this battle. The trigger effect is rest 1 of your opponent's 4 cost or less Characters. This is okay as we can potentially stop one of your opponent's attacks.

The Warlords

Finally the last 2 cards and also part of the 7 Warlords system (both former Warlords in the series). 10 drop Doffy is very useful especially if you can get a few rested Characters on your opponent's field. The effect works on play, up to total of 3 of your opponent's rested Leader and Characters will not become active in your opponent's next Refresh Phase. This is basically putting a freeze/lock on those cards, stopping their attacks.

OP06 Moria works on play, choose one 4 cost or less Character and one 2 cost or less Character from your trash. Play one as active and the other rested. What I like about this effect is that this is not colour restricted, so we can also choose our green Characters as well as black Characters, but I don't think we have a lot of green Characters with those cost requirements compare to black. Although, this is still handy as we could potentially filled up 3 Characters slot for 8 DONs, setting up the attacks on our next turn.

Deck List

EB01 Perona

Explanation

What you mainly want is reducing your opponent's Characters cost so Perona can rest those Characters, then we could play Drake/Ryuma to KO that rested Character. We also have Brook and T-Bone who doesn't target rested Characters, but you will need a few cost reducing effects to hit the cost requirement for those KO effects. Drake and Ryuma is easier as you only need to reduce your opponent's Character cost down to 4.

We also have searchers like Brannew and Baby 5 to search for our key cards, but with Baby 5 we don't have much of a choice compare to Brannew. Like both Drake and Corazon are also Navy cards which make the chances increased for searching Navy cards. But if you can get both working, then you will end up with a decent hand size.
